It's clearly an area we have to focus more of our efforts in - helping Somali youth in navigating the myriad of career choices, the challenges along the way and the merits of education.
I believe there are many ways and we can be creative with this. Careers fairs done and run by somali professionals is one way I believe we can encourage and foster their ambitions. Mentoring programs to connect young people to somali professionals on a one-one basis to help develop soft skills, resilience building, support with interviews / applications and general career advice, etc.
Exposing somali children to more role models who look like them. They need to be able to see themselves in these success stories to enable them to believe in the mission.
Im sure thery are many other ways, but prioritising this area is key
