Ps.  I am still considered a nurse with elders and my family back home because I am female. lol. Some stereotypical assumptions will be there no matter what. Ignore it.

Walykumu salaam

Unfortunately stereotypical perceptions of gender roles and professions is something you will always face in our communities. Nevertheless, I would advise you not to allow this to shape your future goals or aspirations. We have a significant number of male nurses in the NHS - of varying specialites and levels. Being a nurse is so under-rated and many who are not working in the NHS dont understand how this field has evolved. You can vary from a staff nurse on the wards, to specialist nurse in a particular field - upto Nurse consultants. Many senior nurses run their own clinics and are highly specialised in their fields.

In short, the field of nursing offers huge benefits and job satisfaction - so if this is where your interest lies, go for it 100%
