Race is a significant obstacle to social mobility in the UK. Fortunately, there are lots of internships, scholarships and grants available for ethnic minorities that help to redress the balance. Having these schemes is great but the problem is that it’s still really hard to find out what you’re eligible for, unless you’ve got a friend or relative who can point you in the right direction.
For example did you know that Deepmind has a fully-funded scholarship for Black students to study Computer Science Masters at UCL? Or Oxford’s fully-funded undergraduate scholarship for Muslim students?
Us neither (until recently!)
That’s why we decided to build a database that aggregates all funding opportunities for BAME people in the UK.
Straight out of the gate we’ve crowd-sourced 10 live opportunities from our community, that cover everything from civil service to entrepreneurship, and we’ll be adding more opportunities daily.
As the database grows, we’re building filters and search alerts that will help you find what you’re eligible for *before* the deadline passes.
You’ll soon be able to add schemes yourself, but in the meantime if there’s any scheme you think should be on there but isn’t, drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll have it up pronto.
